Frequently Asked Questions

What is TPAH?

The Tennessee Partnership for Affordable Healthcare is a collaborative advocacy initiative and nonprofit organization that provides a framework for engagement in state policymaking to directly impact the cost of healthcare and health insurance. TPAH’s primary goal is to support public policies in Tennessee that protect the collective interests of small businesses, large employers, non-profits, and individual consumers alike.

TPAH engages with state lawmakers, healthcare policy experts, executive agencies, and clinical subject-matter professionals to devise, craft, advocate, legislate, and enact a body of state healthcare and employer-sponsored health coverage laws that focus on addressing medical cost concerns, patient safety, and quality care.

Many state lawmakers and regulators actively seek out the advice of business leaders, employers, and entrepreneurs when contemplating laws that could impact their workforce or out state’s healthcare coverage laws for workers. TPAH’s mission is to carry the voice of businesses and job-creators to Capitol Hill so that your elected officials hear from you before they vote on personnel laws and healthcare policies that could impact your employees’ access to safe, quality care or your workforce’s bottom line.

We leverage our strategic relationships, policy expertise, clinical guidance, and proven track record of effective advocacy to connect you with the officials, lawmakers, and government regulators that decide the future of our state’s healthcare laws.

Our goal is to translate your business experience and informed knowledge into actionable public policy, helping you explain the unique needs of your workers and employer responsibilities to the lawmakers who can make a difference.

There is no cost to join TPAH. We simply expect our members to contribute to our policy discussions and to help us envision and advocate for the kind of state laws and policies that can help Tennessee’s workforce thrive with access to safe, affordable, and high-quality medical coverage.
